As I'm sure many of you are aware, as we approach the end of term 3 we also approach the busiest event in the Compsoc calendar: the BFL / Mega LAN, a 5 day LAN running from Monday 25th June to Friday 29th. This is our most oversubscribed event of the year, and so I am giving you fair warning that signups will be opening at 12:00pm midday on Sunday 3rd June for members and 12:00pm midday on Sunday 10th June for guests. For fellow freshers, be amply warned that the BFL fills up pretty sharpish, so get signup camping at 12:00.

For those of you who have been around for much longer, there will be a slight tweaking to the signup setup this year. As it will be last busy busy week of term, many people are only willing to commit a few days to the BFL, rather than the 5 that it runs for. To this end, there will be a full week event, as well as an event for each day. If you are not coming for the whole week then simply sign up to each of the days you will be attending, otherwise sign up for the week long event. The idea is to get the best tradeoff between ease of seating plan and fitting as many people in as possible.

The Society is looking at organising an end of term Paintballing event in conjunction with PaintballSoc. At the moment we are looking at how much interest we get from members before confirming it but initial reaction has been positive. Before we can decide how to run the event we need members to decide if they want to do a full day or a half day at the event.

The event will take place on Saturday 23rd June (10:00-15:00 (full day), shorter if we do the half day).

Approximate cost will be around £35 for the full day and around £25 for the half day which will include:

• Transportation
• Equipment Hire
• Lunch (depending on when we go and whether its a full day or a half day)
• 500 Paintballs

If you are interested in coming to the event (and we want a big CompSoc team :)) you can view more details and signup for the event. When signing up for the event, in the comments you should say whether you would prefer to do the half or full day. We will then look at the responses and put together some concrete plans.

Hope to see as many of you there as possible to unwind post exams and give the Exec a good shooting :).

There's a clothing order up on the website. You can get T-shirts, Sweatshirts, Polo shirts, Hoodies and Fleeces - an unprecedented variety! We have also changed suppliers, so the quality should be higher. Clothing should also arrive before the BFL - so alumni members should have no problem collecting their orders.

Hey everyone! Judging by the LAN sign-ups list (Have you signed up yet?) it appears many of you were unaware that you could set/edit your nickname on the new website. You can do so on the Website Account page in the 'Members' section. Go go go.

Welcome back to term 3 and the excitement that is CompSoc. This announcement is primarily that Gaming will be returning this Friday at 8pm. It will be preceded by a social in the Rootes Social Bar between 7pm and 8pm. For the more hardcore there is a Techteam meeting from 6pm to 7pm, preceding the social.
