IBM Extreme Blue Internship

Extreme Blue is IBM’s summer internship programme which combines top undergraduate technical and business talent to develop and commercialise emerging technologies from IBM’s internal portfolios. The internship programme runs at IBM Hursley, near Winchester and the interns work in small project teams of 4 that include business and technical students, along with IBM mentors from various disciplines and divisions. As an Extreme Blue student, you'll face the challenge of making a real impact in the industry. In addition to being paid a salary of £15,000 pro rata, you will also be provided with accommodation for the duration of the summer close to the IBM Hursley site.

Welcome back after the Christmas break. For any refreshers, just a reminder of compsoc's events: We have pub socials on Mondays, WUGLUG on Wednesdays and Gaming on Fridays. If you have not been before, don't worry, we don't bite. Don't forget to sign up to the LAN in week 2!

This Wednesday sees an exciting talk from IBM, entitled "Virtualise Everything and Save the Planet!", its at 2pm in L4. Full details can be found on the events page.

This Friday the Computing Society holds its annual Christmas Meal signups are availible online .

Welcome Freshers to the greatest society at this university. We offer many exciting events including trips to major companies as well as the general social activities of go-karting, bowling, paintballing and many others. We hold weekly gaming sessions as well as going to the pub. For the more academically minded, there is a free software project that anyone can contribute to, a GNU/Linux user group and many programming competitions throughout the year. Some users are experiencing problems with emails being delivered to our servers. Our servers' settings are correct, but these settings may take a while to propagate to other servers that we do not control.
