IBM sponsorship

Following on from a meeting earlier in the week, IBM have agreed to again sponsor us, with the details to be decided at a later date. A trip to Hursley is being planned for term 2 of next year which ought to be funded in large part by them. It’s possible that a trip to IBM Warwick would be possible for those people that could not make the former trip.

Cleaning up after gaming

Binbags should be provided at gaming. Action: Azurit or Estel to purchase bin bags to excess and have them placed in the cupboard.

KOEI event

Sinjo reported that the KOEI event for week 10 of the term has been sorted, with final details being left to Animesoc.

Inter-compsoc gaming

Estel reported that he has talked to some other compsocs with respect to inter-University gaming activities: but there has not been much interest. Action: He should come up with a list of awesome ideas for things to do that can be placed to the other Universities, preferably with dates such that there’s no bickering.

DCS alumni event

The DCS alumni event is going on. Action: Connor to see if DCS have anything in particular that they think we can contribute to it.

BBQ

The end of term BBQ was discussed: site 2 has not been booked yet, but it was decided that we should instead book the site on the big field behind JM; Connor volunteered to discover the relevant site number.

LAN stuff

Preparations for LAN were discussed. Action: Estel to contact estates to check that the climate control was set appropiately. After much discussion, a temperature of 18 degrees was decided upon.

Projector

Monk reported that the SU said inter-society money transfers were fine; said he was waiting for Animesoc to write out an invoice before money transfer for the projector was finalised.

WUGLUG

The future of the LUG was discussed. Action: Monk to come up with a suggested list of LUG activities to be arranged for next term in order that it can be more active for the new year.

Colo server

Future colocation of a server was discussed.
Action: monk and sinjo to look into the costings for this.

The new website has been rolled out.
There have been password problems, and 200 accounts have been
disabled. Connorhd needs to delete the emails with passwords in them.
The locations on the website have lots of duplicates. Someone needs to fix this.
Trac needs to accept anonymous bugs, and so captcha needs to be installed.

Interuniversity gaming

A good idea would be to have interuniversity gaming. Estel should

Trackmania, DotA and L4D.

Xbox usage

The Xbox360 is not being used enough at the moment to justify buying
new games. If interest picks up then maybe we can look to buy more.

that, the gaming officer should bring it along to gaming and LANs

LAN

LAN setup will occur at 7, and the entire exec should be there to help set up.

RTSsoc

RTSsoc seemed to have dissappeared, and so the Ghosts need to be
deployed against them.

Biosoc

Action: Sinjo needs to email biosoc about the website that raeped codd
and ITS to ask about backus ports being opened.

Equal ops

The exec needed a member of it to be trained in equal opportunities.

Mailman moderation

The new exec needed mailman administrator and moderator passwords.
Action: Monk needs to reset the passwords, and Sinjo needs to change
it so that the whole exec can see notifications on exec, discuss and

IEEE fun

It was noted that we should not form an IEEE student branch, but
rather help DCS if they wish to form one.

Action: Connorhd to get jiggy with Roland Wilson, and ask about DCS
forming a student branch.

Warwick Real Time Strategy Society

Warwick RTS should be messaged, and ask if they cannot use our resources.

Action: Mogmiester to message RTS soc and ask for a meeting with
Azurit and Estel.

Equipment loan for Game Design Society

Cables and what not for Warwick Games Design were sorted by Connorhd.
We also need cable covers, however.

Action: Monk to buy cable covers and related things.

Arranging new gaming contact for next year

Due to Hammad and Mulletron leaving next year, we need to ensure we can
still run the gaming even and have someone with access to the Compsoc
guest account.

The meeting between Azurit, Connorhd and Roger has not gone ahead
yet, as they are still waiting for Roger to suggest a time. From what
we have heard from Hammad, Roger is fine to have Connor and Sinjo as
contacts for this, but nobody outside of the department.

Cupboard Key handover

The keys for the new cupboard have been given to Sinjo by Monk. Monk has
also given the original to Hammad to give back to Roger.

Projector Purchase

Twinklefeet, the animesoc president, is happy to sell us the
projector. He will get to the exec of compsoc when he knows how much
for and when. However, it is possible that it is in Hammad’s or
Mulletron’s office.

Action: Monk to find the bloody projector.

Budget

We remembered that budgets have to happen soon.

Action: Monk to make a budget draft for sometime this weekend

Techteam Organisation

There are a large number of people interested in doing tech stuff this
year. Monk, Connor and Sinjo all agreed we should have a techteam meeting
ASAP and advertise this to the members, in order to organise what priveleges
and jobs people should be assigned.

Action: Connor, Monk and Sinjo to arrange a time for the techteam meeting,
and email an announce to the members.
