Academic
One of the primary roles of the society is to make available academic opportunities that would otherwise not be possible to the student body. As such, we:
- Run regular programming competitions through the year. These are often have sponsored prizes: recently we were able to offer an Eee PC to the winner.
- We run occasional trips to places of interest in the UK, such as IBM Hursley. Some of our members travel to FOSDEM each year.
- There is a Linux User Group (WUGLUG) within the society, who arrange talks and other activities.
